Volumes and spatial composition

The house consists of six volumes. Each volume has its own function. Together they form a single whole. Between them runs a transparent space that connects everything. This is where the story of the house begins. You look through the house, out and up. As you move, the perspective changes continuously. Inside and outside flow into one another.

Ground floor and living areas

On the ground floor, the spaces are arranged in a sequence, but never directly behind one another. They are offset. This creates a rhythm. You naturally move from one place to the next. The dining room forms the focal point and connects the ground floor with the upper level via a void. The kitchen and living room are separated by a concrete wall with a fireplace. Not a standalone object, but part of the whole. From the sunken living room, you look purposefully out into the garden.

Flooring and material use

Above, the house divides into two parts: children and parents. Both remain connected to the surroundings. Corner windows and sightlines draw the landscape inside. The parents' suite is designed as one continuous space. Sleeping, dressing, and bathing flow into one another. Materials are used calmly and precisely: wood, plaster, and cement-bonded panels. Large expanses of glass enhance the openness and make the villa light and coherent.
